The guys though at the tuning firm Anderson Germany handles this daunting task and comes up with a Carbon Edition of the 458 Italia.

Of course the highlight of the tweak is the carbon fiber that they fit the special version of the Ferrari. They used the lightweight material on the bumper flaps in front, lip spoiler on both front and rear, intake grille near the rear window, air outlets of the engine, and ventilation grille on the front bumper.

That one paragraph is not good enough to tell you how much carbon fiber Anderson Germany put on this Ferrari 458 Italia. They also used carbon on the car’s hood, roof, mirrors, trunk lid, door handles, trims of the tail light, and rear diffuser. Do not forget the alloy rim spokes, too.

The tuning firm also improved the engine’s performance by reprogramming the V8′s software and connecting a sportier exhaust system. These boosted the engine output to 623 horsepower.

Other hardware upgrades include a new suspension kit which further lowers the ride of the 458 Italia and 21 inch alloy rims hugged by 255/30 tires in front and 355/25 for the rear.

The stock 458 Italia boasts of 52 horsepower and goes from 0 to 62 mph in a matter of 3.4 seconds. We are pretty sure these numbers were improved a bit. After the tuning firm’s work on the Ferrari 458 Italia.

The recalls of the Japanese carmaker Toyota really hurt the brand allowing Honda to grab the crown for customer loyalty in the United States. Ford was also able to overtake it according to Consumer Reports.

Based on a survey last April, 57% of Toyota owners will most likely purchase another car from Toyota. The figure is significantly down as it was in the 70% mark back in December 2009.

Most likely Toyota will have to spend some money or extend costly incentives to win most of their US customers back and stop the slippage of their market share. They’re finding a hard time making any money, and that’s not usually the case with the sturdy Japanese…

Customers chose “overall reputation” of the car brand as their primary factor for choosing their new vehicle.

Honda got 68% of their customers wanting to go back to their dealerships to purchase a new vehicle. This was a slight nudge up from 67% five months back.

Ford got 61% last April against its 58% loyalty in December.

Chevrolet, which makes up two thirds of GM’s sales in the US, dropped to 49% for customer loyalty from 57% five months ago. Completing the top 5 is Dodge which received 24% customer loyalty down from 32% in December.

Already the fastest, most powerful child of Bentley’s long, 90-year manufacturing history, no one really thought that there was anything else left to modify in the Continental GT Ultrasports 702. After all, this vehicle was already badass enough, what with 621 HP of power. However, German tuning company Wheelsandmore though that they could still polish this supercar. With a little tweaks, they made new goodies for the Brit GT.

Wheelsandmore tinkered with the GT’s ECU so they were able to add a sports exhaust system to the vehicle. With this modification, the tuning company was able to generate not just 621 HP but a monstrous 702 HP and a toque of 650 pound-feet from the machine. The top speed of the Bentley was also raised by at least 5mph, or a grand speed of 209 miles per hour (336 km/h) when you’re really running for it.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Aside from the power boost, Wheelsandmore also modified the wheels. The Bentley now wears lightweight 21-inch three-piece allow wheels. These wheels are wrapped in Dunlop Sport Maxx tires. Wheelsandmore also coupled the vehicles new-found speed with powerful carbon-ceramic brakes. If you’re concerned about the aesthetic finish of the Bentley, don’t be. The new electronic lowering of the package adds the final touches.

The Bentley Continental Suporsports made its debut in Geneva last year, with steady sales coming from the US market well into the summer of 2010. The 6.0 L W12 engine of the supercar runs on either petrol, E85 biofuel, or a combination petrol and E85 biofuel. Bentley calls it flexfuel, and all Continentals will soon be capable of using it! Being a Bentley fan and a fan of the earth, I think it’s great to see these BIG engines go greener without losing their punch!

Last February, RM Auctions announced that they are putting on sale a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO which was estimated to go for $16 to $20 million. Last week, the company reported that the car is finally going to a buyer.

According to report filed with The Sun, the buyer is Chris Evans, a British radio anchor who also previous wrote a check for $10 million for a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder in another RM auction. The latest purchase though of another 250 GTO cost him $18 million. The radio host had to sell three cars from his Ferrari collection to purchase the 1963 Ferrari which he plans on driving on the road.

Click here to view the embedded video.

While $18 million is definitely a lot of money the acquisition is actually less than some 250 GTOs that changed hands through the years. A recent purchase recorded a sticker price of $28.5 million. Another headliner was the 1936 Bugatti Atlantic which was sold at around $30-$40 million earlier this month. The Atlantic is the most expensive car of all time. Bruno Vessiez says about the Ferrari: “The Ferrari is a car that is synonymous with great expertise and beauty. It is a delight to see it blaze ahead of all the possible cars on the race tracks and actually has comparison and competition to none other car in that realm. If you like the excitement and adrenaline pump in your veins then the Ferrari will certainly be able to deliver what it promises you. The Ferrari is a car for the rich boys around town and has a prestigious social status symbol linked to it. It is a car for the rich and the ones who like speed and the thrill that it brings along with it.”

During a special Berlin car event, Volkswagen launched the prototype of the brand new fully-electric Polo Blue E Motion. It also made a roll call to its future lineup which is geared at sustainable mobility.

In 2013, Volkswagen is slated to begin the production of the Golf Blue E Motion. This vehicle is powered by a 115 horsepower electric motor, and will be launched together with its city-driving version. At the same time, VW will be launching the Lavida Blue E Motion sedan in China. The Lavida sedan concept was presented in Beijing last week.

According to earlier reports, the electric Lavida sedan is the first electric car wholly produced and designed in China. The details about the car are still hazy, but based solely on the photos released by the company, the interior and exterior details seem pretty clean and solid. The overall impact isn’t exactly wow-worthy yet, but the design details are not bad either. Maybe the CO2 emission figures of the vehicle will be more impressive.

While Volkswagen seems more than excited to release its wide range of electric cars, they’re looking forward to launching their hybrids as well. Standing in line are the Golf hybrid Jetta, which will be released in 2013; and the Passat Hybrid. These two will follow the trails already made by the second generation Toureg SUV Hybrid which was recently put on sale.

The new VW Toureg SUV Hybrid is 440 lbs lighter than the first generation Toureg and is offered with a gasoline-electric powertrain. The non0hybrid version is also available in two turbocharged diesel engines. The SUV recently made its world premiere in Geneva.

The Gumball 3000 parade in London kicks off with 17 minutes of eye candy. The most expensive luxury cars join the parade, but spectators say some “clowns” join in, as well.

The Gumball 3000 is an idealistic event showcasing the best cars that most people can’t afford owning for themselves. It was founded in 1999 by Maximillion Cooper. Unlike most parades of luxury cars, the Gumball 3000 is not a real race. The only real objective is that the participants need to cover and complete a 3,000 mile drive on public roads.

Organizers of the Gumball 3000 even go so far as to call it merely an “adventure” or a “road trip” for luxury car owners and drivers. However, it needs to be noted that not all countries approve of the parade. There have been many cases when the drivers had to pay heavy traffic fines for over speeding. In the worst occasions, some cars have even been confiscated.

It didn’t help that in 2007, the event was cancelled mid-run. This was because an accident caused by the parade resulted in two fatalities. The VW Golf of an innocent 67-year-old Macedonian couple was hit by British drivers Matthew McConville and Nick Morley.

The two were driving a Techart Porche 911, a souped up version of the legendary 911 series, and they fled the scene by hitching a ride with other Gumball 3000 participants. While the innocent motorists didn’t die on the spot, the man died of a heart attack while he was being taken to the hospital. His wife was in a critical condition before she died herself.

The tragedy didn’t stop the Gumball 3000 from proceeding the succeeding years. This year’s parade made its first stopover in Amsterdam. It will then take a Copenhagen-Stockholm-Montreal-Toronto route until it reaches its final destination, New York City. The parade is slated to go on for about a week. This will include ferry rides (they will have to cross oceans) in between.

Fiat has not released the official numbers but they are saying that the small engine of the Fiat 500 will be spewing out less than 100 g of CO2 every kilometer.

Fiat offered a similar small twin engine back in 1996 in one of the Cinqucento releases. Today, only Tata through its Nano use a 33 horsepower 623cc power plant being sold in India.

In Europe, there are several car models that are equipped with 3-cylinder engines. The smallest of which is a diesel engine of the Smart ForTwo with 800 cc that can output 45 horsepower. Other car makers using a similar engine are Subaru, Suzuki, Opel, Mitsubishi, Chevrolet, and several others.

The new Fiat 900cc engine will be giving out 85 hp. It will be unveiled during the Geneva Motor Show next month. It will be along side a base engine that has 65hp and a performance version that has 105 hp turbo.

The new engine line-up will make use of the MultiAir Technology that Fiat pioneered with its four-cylinder powertrains. This engine is specifically engineered to save about 10% of the fuel but boost power at the same time. A fuel-effient car that has more power. I love it!

Fiat will use their two cylinder engine with their other small units that will be sold in Europe. The engine will run on gasoline or compressed natural gas.

For over a century, the Renault Company has been in the automobile world. Its founders were among the first to discover motor sporting as an effective tool for marketing their automobiles. The cars became famous over time for its revolutionary designs and motor racings. The Renault Corporation was founded in 1898 by Louis Renault along with his brothers, Marcel and Fernand, and his friends Thomas Evert and Julian Wyer.

The first Renault car, Renault Voiturette 1CV achieved instant success in many racings including the first city-to-city races held in Switzerland. After the death of Marcel during the Paris-Madrid race in 1903, the brothers stopped their personal involvement in such racings. Yet in 1906, the Renault AK 90CV went on to win the first-ever Grand Prix motor racing event. The nationalisation of Renault Company after Second World War led to resurgence in its sale, with the all-new rear-engine 4CV model launched in 1946. It bet the likes of Morris Minor and Volkswagen Beetle. Again the company used motor racing extensively to popularise its 4CV model. The car won the Le Mans 24 hours and Mille Miglia races plus the Monte Carlo rally (with Renault Alpine A442). They even established a special motor sport division called the Renault Sport for this purpose. They also succeeded quite well in rallying (with Renault 5 Turbo) and Formula 1.

Earlier ridiculed for its turbochargers, which later went on to become a trend in motor racing, Renault cars won their first formula 1 race merely 2 years down the line on their home soil in Dijon. In 2001, they took over the Benetton F1 team. Fernando Alonso won the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2003. Though in 2004, the Renault team could only reach third place at the Constructor’s Championship, in 2005 and 2006 Fernando won them both the Constructor’s and Driver’s titles.

The company CEO Carlos Ghosn promises to stay in the F1 race for a long time to come. They believe to show off their talent racing all the way! For more Renault Racing check out Club Renault Sport!
